One nice way Top Chef works is by exploring the relation of food and love, of how you are fed within a family, and how being a chef plays with those conceptions through hospitality in various settings. I also like that it’s become about the conceptualizing of a dish and of a meal, though they can at times over-emphasize the role of story.
